A reminder that Ian Pallett’s last service with us, before he goes to take up his new post, will be a Sung Eucharist at St James’ on Sunday 18th September. This will be a joint service (hence no service at St Anne’s that Sunday) and it will start at 10.30am. Our friends from St Ninian’s, Invergordon hope to join us for that service, which will be followed by an informal gathering, with wine, in the Church Hall. Please come along if you can and help to give Ian and Dianne a rousing send-off!
Services during the Inter-regnum
Having consulted our non-stipendiary clergy and met with Bishop Mark, the Vestry has decided that during the inter-regnum (which begins formally on 1st October) there will be a single joint service each Sunday, starting at the new time of 10.30am, alternating between our two churches and encompassing a range of different forms of service.
We hope in this way to maintain a continuity of worship while making best use of the resources (both clerical and lay) available to us and, at the same time, finding new ways of bringing us together in this challenging period for the Wyvis charge.
The Wednesday morning services will continue as at present.
Full details are still being worked out, but the basic pattern of Sunday services during October, November and December (all at 10.30am unless specified) is now expected to be as follows –
2 St James’ Sung Eucharist (Pentecost 20)
9 St Anne’s Harvest Festival Service
16 St James’ Sung Eucharist (St Luke)
23 St Anne’s Matins and Eucharist (Pentecost 23)
30 St James’ Sung Eucharist (Pentecost 24)
6 St Anne’s Sung Eucharist (All Saints )
13 St James’ Remembrance Sunday (NB – 0945 start)
20 St Anne’s Family Service (Next Before Advent)
27 St James’ Matins and Eucharist (Advent Sunday)
4 St Anne’s Sung Eucharist (Advent 2)
11 St James’ Family Service (Advent 3)
18 St Anne’s Matins and Eucharist (Advent 4)
25 Christmas Day

Filling the Vacancy
Under Bishop Mark’s guidance, the Vestry has started drawing up a Congregational Profile. This will form the basis on which the vacancy will be advertised. Further updates on this process will be provided over the coming months, through the Newsletter and other means.
