A new Scottish string quartet with strong local connections will give its debut performance in St James’ Church Dingwall on the evening of Friday 25th May. Led by Emma Donald, who was a pupil at Dingwall Academy, the Fyrish String Quartet brings together four young musicians with extensive orchestral experience who came together when performing in an ensemble at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. Emma’s colleagues in the Quartet are Georgina MacDonell Finlayson (second violin), Yvette Rosie (viola) and Tim Cais (cello).
In this concert they will be playing Mozart’s quartet K465 (Dissonance) and Elgar’s quartet in E minor, Op 83. The performance will begin at 7.30pm and refreshments will be served during the interval. Entrance is free but donations to church funds will be welcome.
