Today Julia received a letter from Highland Foodbank thanking us for donations at Harvest Festival. Relevant paragraphs are below.
“We would like to thank the members and friends of St. James’ & St. Anne’s Church for responding to our 2021 Harvest Appeal and donating an amazing 100kgs of food and £50 in cash. Your donations will enable us to meet the ongoing need within communities across the Highlands.”
The letter cited an example of ‘signposting’ to other services which they do in addition to providing food and continues as follows:-
“As much as Foodbank is about providing emergency food to people in crisis, it is also about signposting people to other agencies to help them find solutions to the underlying causes making them need to use Foodbank in the first place.”
So, well done everyone. 100kg of emergency food supplies is amazing as is the cash to support the work signposting people to get other help.
Just two ways we help in our communities as members of Wyvis Churches! Thanks again to all who donated and set up the church for the Harvest Festival.
